     Mary E. (MacNeil) Sweeley passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility in Greenfield, MA.
     Mary was born in Quincy, MA on November 28, 1937 the eldest daughter to John and Marie MacNeil. She grew up in Greenfield attending Holy Trinity and Greenfield schools graduating with the GHS class of 1955. She married the late Raymond Prunier and they resided in Greenfield while raising their three sons.
     Mary worked briefly for New England Telephone and went on to the Franklin County Public Hospital (Baystate Franklin Medical Center) in the Switchboard and Billing Departments while pursuing her nursing degree at Greenfield Community College, where she attained her ASN degree in 1971. Upon graduation, Mary began her nursing career with the hospital where she worked in many departments including the operating room. She later earned a BSN degree from Fitchburg State College and was active in the National Associate of Operating Nurses (AORN). Mary was one of the first to become certified in OR nursing (CNOR).
     Mary married Crawford K. Sweeley in 1971 and they began their real estate careers in 1983 establishing Benchmark 100 Realtors in 1990. Mary spent countless hours assisting families within Franklin County to attain their dream homes. Throughout her real estate career, Mary received numerous accolades, awards and recognition.
     Mary traveled extensively with vacations in the Bahamas, Caribbean and Vail and truly enjoyed her vacation homes on Cape Cod and Florida. She always made time for her grandson Billy creating cherished memories for all to enjoy.
     Mary was a member of the Red Cross Board of Directors and the Franklin County Public Hospital Board of Overseers and others. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church in Greenfield.
     She is survived by her husband Ken; her beloved grandson Billy, her son Bill, his wife Susie and step daughter Kelly of South Deerfield, her son David of Venice, FL and her son Steven of Turners Falls. Mary also leaves her sister and best friend Regis Johnston and her husband Edward, her brother Jack MacNeil and her nephews Christopher, Jamie and Matthew Crocker and their families.
     A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 1 at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity Church, 133 Main St., Greenfield. Monsignor Ronald G. Yargeau, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Following the Mass, a reception will take place in the church’s Fr. Casey Hall located on the first level of the church.
     Friends and relatives are invited to join the family for a visitation at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 87 Franklin St., Greenfield on Sunday, January 31 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
     In lieu of flowers, Mary requested memorial contributions to be made to the Warm the Children fund, c/o the Recorder, PO Box 1367, Greenfield, MA 01302.
