Vernon R. Caswell, 87, of School St., passed away at home on Sunday, September 14, 2025 with his family by his side.
He was born in Colrain, MA on May 19, 1938 the son of Robert and Althea (Spring) Caswell. Upon graduating from high school he enlisted in the US Navy, serving from 1956 until his Honorable Discharge in 1963.
He was a machinist at the Greenfield Tap & Die for over 30 years.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Texanne (Dubie) Caswell, two daughters; Candace Caswell of Greenfield and Heather Caswell of Deerfield, granddaughter Emma Lanoue and grandson Levin Prondecki, brothers Errol and Donald Caswell, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother John and sister Jane Caswell.
There will be a visiting hour on Thursday, Sept. 18 from 9 am to 10 am at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 40 Church St., Shelburne Falls. The funeral will begin at 10 followed by burial in Arms Cemetery, Shelburne Falls.
