Todd W. “Cookie” Jarvis, 59, of Park Villa Dr., passed away Friday, October 7, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Todd was born in Troy, NY on January 4, 1963 the son of Thomas and Joan (Sullivan) Jarvis. He graduated from Franklin Tech in 1982 and attended Toccoa Falls College (GA) shortly after.
Todd was involved for many years in Boy Scouts. He was a member of Troops both 15 & 69 and was a scout master of Troop 121. He was awarded the Silver Beaver and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He was also a member of the Civil Air Patrol, where he rose to the rank of Major. While in the Civil Air Patrol he was involved in emergency preparedness and planning. Todd was also an active member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Greenfield and was very involved with the Men’s Breakfast gatherings there.
Todd was an EMT and firefighter with the Shelburne Falls FD and Brookside (Greenfield) at different times. He was most recently an EMT and driver for Baystate Ambulance.
At home Todd enjoyed cooking & baking, especially his famous Christmas cookies. He loved to travel, Lake George being one of his favorite destinations. Todd had also spent many hours studying the history of WWII and the Battle at Gettysburg. He was fond of anything old western related, especially John Wayne. More than anything, he loved his Savior, Jesus Christ, and made it a point to live a life that was pleasing to Him.
The family that Todd leaves behind include a son, Jason Jarvis and his wife Lydia of Buckland, step-daughter Amanda Toporek and her partner Seth Recore of Turners Falls, a soon to be granddaughter Maizie Jarvis who is expected to arrive around Jan. 25, 2023, two brothers; David Jarvis of Shelburne Falls and Ed Jarvis of Greenfield, a sister Kim Turner of Greenfield, along with aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his parents, Todd was predeceased by a brother Michael Jarvis.
Calling hours will be Friday evening (10/14) from 6 to 8 pm at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 40 Church St., Shelburne Falls.
A funeral service will take place Saturday (10/15) at the Greenfield Alliance Church, 385 Chapman St., Greenfield at 2:00 pm. Burial services will follow in Trow Cemetery in Buckland, along with a reception at The Eagles in Buckland.
