Susan (Lindgren) Chiapputi, 55, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family.
Susan was born in Bridgeport, CT on September 19, 1965 and grew up in Northfield, MA. She graduated from the Culinary Arts program at Franklin County Technical School in 1984.
She began her culinary career even before her graduation, working for Herm Maniatty at the Corner Cupboard, and then later at Herm’s and Bricker’s restaurants. Most recently Susan was the kitchen manager at the Deerfield Elementary School.
Susan was married to the love of her life, Patrick Chiapputi in 1987. They made their homes in Gill, Old Deerfield and finally settling in West Deerfield in 1996.
In her free time Susan loved to ride horses and compete in gymkhana events. She also enjoyed cooking, circle track racing and demolition derby’s.
Susan adored her two grandchildren and cherished her time spoiling them whenever she could.
In addition to her devoted husband Pat, Susan leaves behind a daughter Carly Chiapputi and her fiancé Tyler Mankowsky of Northfield, two grandchildren; Cole Culver and Brooks Mankowsky, a brother Thomas Lindgren of Holden, MA, two sisters; Kathrine Lane of Deerfield and Cynthia Lindgren-Mahoney of Port St. Lucy, FL, extended family and many friends.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, May 12 from 6 to 8 pm at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 87 Franklin St., Greenfield.
Graveside services will be private.
