Sandra A. "Sandy" (Moltenbrey) Koncal

Sandra (Sandy) A. Koncal, took the Lord’s hand on May 21, 2024 at her home in Greenfield while surrounded by her family and cat Oreo. She was born on September 1, 1942 in Montague MA, and was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Genevieve (Jennie) Moltenbrey.  In her early years, Sandra provided childcare for neighboring children and attended Turners Falls High School, receiving her diploma in 1960. These experiences led her to find her purpose to work with the elderly at the Franklin Nursing Home until her retirement. Her greatest passion was caring for her children, family, animals, and those who became a part of her life. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, going to the beach, and rooting for her favorite team, the Yankees. Sandy was a lifetime member of the Greenfield Moose Club Lodge 997 and was dedicated to care for the Young and Old. She took pride in all the things she did and instilled the value of hard work and compassion to her children and grandchildren.

Sandy was predeceased by her parents, husband Rod who passed in January 2023 after 57 years together, brother Stephen Moltenbrey, and sister Diane Letourneau.

She leaves her sons, Robert and Michael Koncal of Greenfield, MA, daughters Sherry Hubbard & husband Carlton of Bernardston, MA, and Jennifer Widelo of Greenfield, MA; as well as ten Grandchildren, two Great Grandchildren, and a host of relatives and acquaintances including Carol Moltenbrey, Gordon Koncal, Natalie Koncal, and Sandra Dubie.    

 A special note of gratitude goes to May Hnath, Carole James, Nancy Bailey, LifePath, the wonderful staff at the Pioneer Valley Hospice Team, and Tricia Kelly & Father Pierz from the Blessed Trinity Parish for their spiritual support.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday 6/29 at 11 am at Holy Trinity Church on Main St. Greenfield, MA, followed by a Burial at the Calvary Cemetery, 175 Wisdom Way, Greenfield, MA.
