Paulette Rae Cottrill, of Greenfield, MA, was reunited with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early Friday morning, July 10, 2026, surrounded by family. She was born to Raymond and Donna Maurer on April 6, 1943, in Barberton, OH. Paulette was preceded in death by her parents, brother Michael, and sister Margaret.
Paulette is survived by her husband of 64 years, Wayne, and sons James (Julie) of Whitehall, OH, Raymond (Patricia) of Manassas, VA, Father Nick of Rocky Mount, NC, and Edward (Suzanne) of Greenfield, MA. Her grandchildren are Cecelia, Madeline (John) Free, Stephen (Devan), Christina (Tracy) Donahue, Catherine, Marguerite, George, Gabriella, Ronald, Veronica, and Nicholas Cottrill, and great grandsons, Caleb and Levi Free.
She is also survived by brother Lawrence (Carole) Maurer of Virginia Beach, VA, sister Donna Jean (Michael) Meyers of Akron, OH, brother-in-law Daniel Tice of Mineral, VA, brother Mark (Rebecca) Maurer of the Bahamas, and sister Mary (Daniel) Bruton of Locust Grove, VA, and many nephews, nieces and godchildren.
Paulette lived her life for the Lord as a wife and homemaker as she enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting, and canning. She joyfully helped her daughters (in law) bring home each of their babies from the hospital, staying a while to get things settled in. A favorite memory is Mom baking chocolate chip cookies every week to put in packed lunches and add to breakfast for teenage boys. Paulette was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked in that field for a while. But more importantly, she brought those skills in caring for her family and friends. Paulette loved to travel, especially to the Holy Land, and vacationing on (and then retiring to) Topsail Island, NC.
