Patricia (Caron) (Edes) Lowell

Patricia (Caron) (Edes) Lowell, 81, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Friday, December 10, 2021.

Pat was born in North Adams, MA on December 13, 1939, the daughter of Alfred and Mary (Angeli) Caron.  She graduated from Arms Academy in 1957 and also earned a degree in accounting from Northampton Commercial College in 1958 and then a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Smith College in 1979.

Pat had been employed as an administrative assistant for many business’ including the Records Office at UMass Amherst, Secretary to the president of SDS stores (Family Dollar), Secretary to Manager at JK Electronics in Greenfield.  She held many positions at the Town of Shelburne and was the first Secretary for the town’s Police Department.  She also owned and managed TLC Gifts on State St in Shelburne Falls.

Pat’s first husband, James F. Edes, Sr., a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam war and recipient of the Purple Heart and Silver Star, predeceased her on February 1,1981.  

Pat leaves behind her loving family, husband Brian T. Lowell whom she married on June 30, 1984, daughter Tammy Hicks and husband Paul, son Christopher Edes and wife Colleen, son David Lowell and wife Tammy, daughter Jennifer Lowell and foster son Douglas Ewing. Grandchildren:  Ryan (Jessica) Hicks, Gary (Shannon) Hicks, Wyatt Edes, Jacob (Chelsea) Lowell, Hayley Lowell and Kylie Lowell.  Great Grandchildren: Tucker, Brody, Avery and Drew Hicks, sister Priscilla (Guy) Boisvert, sisters-in-law Nancy (Robert) Fishlein and Sarah (E. Tony) Schoedel, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to Pat’s first husband James, she was predeceased by a son James F. Edes Jr in 1984.

It was Pat’s wish that her graveside services be private and at the convenience of her family.

There will be a celebration of her life held on Saturday December 18 at 2:30 pm at the Community Center, 53 Main St in Shelburne Falls, all are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, it was her wish the donations to be made either: Oncology Dept. at BFMC, 164 High St Greenfield MA 01301, St Joseph’s Church, 34 Monroe Ave., Shelburne Falls, MA 01370 or to Overlook Hospice, 88 Masonic Home Rd., Charlton MA 01507.
