Patricia A. (Albec) Doneilo

Patricia A. “Pat” (Albec) Doneilo, 84, of North St., passed away unexpectedly on January 10, 2022.

     Pat was born on July 17, 1937 to Victor J. and Albina (Miller) Albec, in the same home she was living in when she passed. She graduated from Arms Academy as a member of the class of 1955.

     Pat was married to Stephen E. Doneilo, April 25, 1959, at St. Joseph’s Church in Shelburne Falls, the same church in which both were baptized and attended since they were children.

     Pat was always a positive and upbeat person with a smile and genuine concern for others. She was proud to have been a waitress at the former Howard Johnson’s in Greenfield where she could meet travelers and talk with the “regulars” on a daily basis.

     Her devoted family, her faith and her home at 55 North Street was most important to her. Whether it was having family over for the holidays, daily visits or special occasions, she loved having people at her home. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting on her front porch, watching and waving to neighbors and others passing by, watching the birds and enjoying the current book she was reading. An avid reader, while she sat in her chair on the porch, she could look up from the page, glance at whoever was passing by, and return to the book without missing a beat.

     Pat was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished her friends and family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

     Her loving family includes a daughter; Diane Lanoue of Shelburne, two sons; Stephen Doneilo of Conway, Scott Doneilo and his wife Bonnie of Ashfield, her grandchildren; Jessi Lanoue, Casey Lanoue, Peyton Hayward, Nicholas Doneilo, and Chantelle Duprey, great grandchildren; Kayla Lanoue, Brenton Russell, Ryker Zingler, Brooklyn, Jax, Lilly, and Allison, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

     Pat was predeceased by her husband Stephen in 1999, sisters Lucille Warger in 1995, Marguerite Newton in 2002 and grandson David Lanoue in 2016.

     A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Jan. 20 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 34 Monroe Ave., Shelburne Falls. Rev. William Lunney, Pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in Arms Cemetery.

     In honoring Patty’s wishes, there are no calling hours.
