Maxine Sumner Obituary

Maxine L. (Mador) Sumner, 72, passed away on December 5, 2023, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Maxine was born in Montague, MA on September 2, 1951, the daughter of Marcel and Lucille (Vien) Mador. She was a dedicated, compassionate Registered Nurse to her numerous patients at the Franklin Medical Center (now Baystate Franklin Medical Center), and also in private practice. It was a fulfilling experience and she cherished making a difference in people’s lives.

Away from her career, Maxine enjoyed singing in both the church choir and senior center chorus.

Survivors include her husband Arthur Sumner, two sons; Chad Sumner of Montague and Brandon Sumner of Alaska, two brothers and their wives; Robert & Lisa Mador and David & Ailene Mador, four grandchildren; Jasmine McNamara, Lilith, Zoey and Miles Sumner, and her dear friend Phyllis DeSanty.

Per Maxine's wishes, there are no services.
