Marilyn Richardson Obituary

Marilyn T. (Miller) Richardson, age 99, of Call Rd., passed peacefully from this life on May 30, 2022.

Marilyn was born in Colrain, MA on September 9, 1922 to Emory and Mary Yelle Miller, the youngest of 13 children. She attended local schools before marrying the love of her life, Roy “Spud” Richardson in the Judge’s chambers at the Rhode Island Statehouse. For the next 38 years, Marilyn carved out a new life, working outside the home. She was full of energy and had a youthful outlook on life. She had a great sense of style and enjoyed good health, exercise and eating out. She retired at age 84 from her favorite position at the Registry of Deeds in Greenfield, MA

Marilyn was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Shelburne Falls.

She leaves her seven children; Douglas Richardson (Kathy) and Peter Richardson (Brenda), both of South Deerfield, Harland Richardson (Judy) od Shelburne Falls, Heather Hendry (Alex) of Fort Meyers, FL, Timothy Richardson (Kyle) of Greenfield, Holly Capalbo (Gerard) of Westerly, RI and Hyacinth Salafia (Michael) of Leominster, MA, 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Services will be private and burial will be at the convenience of the family in Mill River Cemetery in South Deerfield.

Marilyn’s family wishes to thank the nurses of Hospice of New England for their care and compassion extended to Marilyn while under their care.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested donations be made to either New England Hospice, 190 Old Derby St., Hingham, MA 02043 or Lifepath, 101 Munson St., Suite 201, Greenfield, MA 01301
