Leon B. Shippee, Jr.

Holyoke- Leon B. Shippee, Jr., 81, formerly of Rowe, passed away May 10, 2026.

He was born in Greenfield, MA on July 13, 1944 the son of Leon and Anna (Leise) Shippee.

In his earlier years he was a member of the National Guard.

He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service at the bulk mail processing center prior to his retirement.

He is survived by his wife Barbara (Grandchamp), a son Kevin Shippee of East Longmeadow, daughters Cindy Shippee, Karen (Blair) Thompson and Sherran (Blair) Palazzi, sisters Martha Caron and Nancy Lescarbeau, and other extended family members.

A visiting hour will be held Saturday, May 23 from 11:30 am to 12:30pm at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 40 Church St., Shelburne Falls. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm, in East Cemetery in Rowe.
