Lawrence J. (Bud) White, Jr.

Lawrence J. “Bud” White, Jr., 68, passed away on November 26, 2021 with his loving family by his side.

     Bud was born in Montague, MA on July 1, 1953 the son of Lawrence. "Bud" Sr. and Alice (Ovitt) White. He graduated from Mohawk Trail Regional High School in 1970, served in the US Air Force and was Honorably Discharged in 1972.

     Bud was employed by the Highway Departments of the towns of Shelburne and Buckland as truck driver and laborer. He also worked for Amherst Trucking in their recycling program.

     A life-long resident of Shelburne Falls, Bud was a former volunteer for the Shelburne Falls Fire Department and was a certified E.M.T. for a period of time.

     Bud enjoyed being outdoors whether it be 4-wheeling with his son Tony or out on the golf course, he was happy to be outside.

     He loved his family and grandchildren, spending as much time with them as possible. Bud was a man loved by many and will be deeply missed.

     His loving family includes his son Anthony “Tony” White of Charlemont, his daughter Amy Foley and her husband Kevin of Lanesboro, MA, brothers Ernie White of New Palz, NY and Glenn White of Rowe, MA, sisters; Lillian Handren of Chester, VT, Dixie Balzer of Greenfield, Marie White of Peacham, VT, grandchildren; Destiny, Teyah, Kaden, Carter, Kason, Madison, Paytan and Aba, a great grandchild Kai, former wife and forever friend Kim Blanchard, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves his best buddy “Molly” his cat.

     Bud was predeceased by his parents, Bud and Alice White and brother, Roger White.

     Calling hour will be Saturday, Dec. 4 at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 40 Church St., Shelburne Falls, from 12:00 to 1:00pm, with a memorial service beginning at 1:00

     Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
