Gill- Kenneth J. “Ken” Royer, 69, of Walnut St., passed away unexpectedly on October 31, 2024.
Ken was born in Montague, MA on August 26, 1955 one of seven sons of Ernest and Helen (Arabia) Royer.
Prior to his retirement Ken had worked for Yankee Candle a number of years, most recently as stock handler.
From a young age he was a car guy. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks and you could always count on his ability to keep them perfectly clean. His truck was as perfect as the day it was new.
Although he never had any children of his own, he was very close to his nieces, nephews and his entire family. He was a reliable source of support over the years. He was a great neighbor as well, helping in any way he could to keep the neighborhood together. Ken also was a good friend to any dog he ever met. His ability to connect with any dog and instantly become a best buddy was a great joy to him.
Survivors include his companion for many years, Kathy Abbey, his brothers; Peter (Mary) Royer of North Carolina, Tim (Harriet) Royer of Hendersonville, TN, Ernie (Dianne) Royer of Leyden, Chris (Linda) Royer of Cross Plains, TN, Adam Royer of Springfield, sister-in-law Missy Royer of Buckland, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Ken was predeceased by a brother Mike Royer.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Nov. 9 at 11:00 am at West Branch Cemetery in Colrain. There are no visiting hours.
