Jean Landers Cahill, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and talented artist, passed away on June 24, 2023, in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts. She will be deeply missed by her son R. Scott Cahill of Rindge, NH, her cherished grandchildren, Robert Cahill of Virginia, and April Cahill of  New Hampshire, and her great-grandchild Grace Kelley Cahill.

Born on October 3, 1934, in New Britain, Connecticut, Jean was the daughter of Blanche (Morse) Hart and James Joseph Hart. She grew up in Newton, Massachusetts.

Gardening held a special place in Jean's heart, and wherever she lived, she would transform the space into a blooming oasis. Her green thumb and love for nature were evident in the vibrant gardens she cultivated over the years.

For many years, Jean resided in Harvard, Massachusetts, where she actively participated in community activities, leaving an indelible mark on the town she called home. In the early 1980s, she made her way to western Massachusetts, where she would spend the majority of her adult years. She embraced the beauty of the region, residing in a number of towns including Greenfield, Belchertown, Northampton, and Shelburne Falls.

In addition to her son, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, Jean is survived by her loving sister, Judith (Hart) Bayer and her husband Fredrick Bayer and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Christine, and her sister, Sheila (Hart) Pallies.
