Greenfield- Jane M. (Walton) Gordon, 76, a resident of the Buckley Health Care Center, passed away on February 16, 2022 at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield.
Jane was born in Greenfield on December 19, 1945 the daughter of Herman and Hazel (Benedict) Walton.
She had been employed at one time as a dipper at Athol Tables, a furniture store in Athol.
Jane lived at LaBelle’s Rest Home in Shelburne Falls for a number of years and enjoyed the activities and staff that were there during her stay. For the last six years Jane was a resident of Buckley Health Care where she loved all of her CNA’s and nurses. She liked playing bingo and she looked forward to her meals in the dining room.
Jane was a spit-fire with a great sense of humor. She was strong-willed and maybe a little stubborn but could also see the humor in the smallest of things. She had a heart of gold and was more concerned about others needs before her own. Jane was especially close to her sister Cathy who cared for her for so many years. They had a loving bond that was unconditional.
The family that Jane leaves behind includes her daughter Lori Ann Osborn, brother Richard (Sue) Walton of Hadley, four sisters; Vivian (Jim) Doyle of Maine, Linda Walton of Turners Falls, Vanessa (Duane) Towne of Northfield, Cathy (Scott) Underwood of Erving, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 8 at 11:00 am at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 87 Franklin St., Greenfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
