Geraldine B. "Gerri" (Bromley) Whiteman

Geraldine “Gerri” Bromley Whiteman, 97, passed away at home in Guilford CT on June 30, 2024.  She was born in Hinesburg, VT on October 8, 1926. She was the daughter of Leroy and Irene Bromley.

Gerri was the widow of Ralph W. Whiteman, Sr. her husband of 52 years. They were long time residents of Shelburne Falls, MA, where they raised their four children, Richard, Ralph Jr., Raymond and Phyllis, had a farm equipment business and were active in the Trinity Church.

She was the bookkeeper for the family-owned business and later worked at Leader Home Center in Greenfield, MA until her retirement in 1990. 

During her retirement years in Florida, she gave over 20 years of volunteer time to a hospice near her home. In addition to serving others, she also loved to read a good book, work on puzzles, and knitting.

Gerri is survived by her loving family; son Raymond and wife Lori Whiteman of Dripping Springs, TX, daughter Phyllis and husband Michael Charette of Rogers, AR.  She is survived by nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, her sister Marlene Rusconi of Killingsworth, CT and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband Ralph W Whiteman, Sr, son Richard W. Whiteman and son Ralph W. Whiteman, Jr.

She will be missed by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held at Arms Cemetery on October 3, 2024 at 1:00.
