South Deerfield, MA - Frederick B. Pike 63, formerly of Shelburne Falls, MA died Saturday December 11, 2021

     Fred was born in Greenfield, MA on August 8, 1958 the son of Harold Pike and Beryl Thayer (Graves).

     He attended local schools and was a graduate of Mohawk Trail High School, Class of 1977. Fred enjoyed his high school years being on the Warriors football team. His teammates referred to him as " the Animal ". Following high school Fred attended a Culinary School in North Adam's, MA

     Throughout Fred's years he was employed with D.B. Cable, J.S. Rae, and for 7 years Greg's Trucking of South Deerfield where he appreciated all his co-workers and held a special place in heart for Brooke and Greg. He enjoyed driving his dump truck referring to it as "Good Ole Mack".

     He was on the Buckland Shelburne Falls Fire Department for many years.

     He enjoyed hunting, working, talking with the “Guys”, gatherings with family and friends but foremost Fred enjoyed time spent with his son, Ethan.

     Fred leaves behind his son Ethan Pike and girlfriend Brandie Soulia of Turners Falls, a brother Allen Pike and girlfriend Donna Ditchkus of Brattleboro, VT, step- daughters Sabrina Tatro and fiancée Jeff Rumgay, Jennifer Tatro and boyfriend Nate Young and his step-grandchildren who put a smile on his face Makayla, Logan and Jeffrey, all of Charlemont, his long-time friend and mother to Ethan, Brenda Tatro of Greenfield, along with many others whom Fred has touched the hearts of. 

     He was predeceased by his mother Beryl Thayer (Graves) in 2008 and his father Harold Pike in 1989.

     Fred will be greatly missed and never forgotten!

     Calling hours will be held at Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 40 Church St., Shelburne Falls, on Saturday January 8, 2022 at 1pm.

     An outdoor celebration of life to be held at a later date during mid spring of 2022.
