Elizabeth M. (LeClair) Forbes

Elizabeth (Betty) M. (LeClair) Forbes, 100, formerly of 15 Meridian St., passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at the Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility.

Elizabeth was born in Athol, MA on July 26, 1921 the daughter of Leon and Mary (Gaylord) LeClair. She was married to Stewart Forbes, November 25, 1945.  They raised their family in Marshfield, MA before retiring to Ft. Myers FL.  She returned to Greenfield in 2012 to be near family

She leaves behind her children; daughter Diane Smithers and her husband Steve of Ashfield, son David Forbes and his partner Trish Johnson of Glens Falls, NY, five grandchildren, Christopher Smithers of Charlemont,  Kate Pousont of Greenfield, Joseph Forbes of AK, Stewart Forbes of Virginia and Rachel Forbes of  Utah  and six great grandchildren.

A funeral service will take place Friday, Sept. 17 at 2:00 pm at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 40 Church St., Shelburne Falls. Burial services will follow in Plain Cemetery, Ashfield.

A visiting hour for family and friends will begin at 1:00 pm prior to the service.
