Elizabeth Ann “Lizzie” Baker, just two months old, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her parents on Sunday, August 24, 2025. After a vigilant search for answers by physicians, it was determined Elizabeth was born with what can only be described as an ultra rare genetic anomaly that only 300 people worldwide have been diagnosed with.
She was born in Greenfield on June 24, 2025, the daughter of Riley and Emily (Sullivan) Baker. She received an outpouring of love in the brief time she shared with her family and loved ones. She made an impact on the lives she touched with her beautiful bright blue eyes and determined spirit.
In addition to her loving and devoted parents, she leaves behind a sister Sadie, her maternal grandparents Scott and Bonnie Sullivan of Colrain, her paternal grandmother Deborah Baker of Southampton, her aunts and uncles Brian and Ingrid Sullivan and Ian and Jolene Baker, and her cousins Emma and Aiden Baker.
The family also wants to extend their thanks to the entire NICU and PICU staff at Baystate Springfield Medical Center.
All are welcome to a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, Aug. 30 from 2 to 4 pm at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 40 Church St., Shelburne Falls.
Donations in Lizzie’s memory may be sent to the Ronald McDonald House.
