Eileen L. Goulston, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the community, passed away on August 28, 2024, at the age of 68. She was born in Montague, MA on October 23, 1955 the daughter of Clark and Marion (Smith) Bailey. She graduated from Turners Falls High School. She was affectionately known as Piedy by family and friends.
Piedy is survived by her four children: Erica Masson (Gill, MA) a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker; Seth Goulston (Chesterfield, VA) a Gourmet Chef for a non-profit; Jerad Goulston (Warwick, MA) a Territory Sales Representative; and Todd Goulston (Sandown, NH) an Engineer and Reliability Lab Manager.
She also leaves behind, her two sisters Maryann Boutwell (Turners Falls, MA) and Rose Gusan (Winchester, NH), her five grandchildren Ellianna, Jerad Jr., Laylah Goulston, Saul Goulston, and Kai Masson, Susan Smith affectionately known as “Cousin Sue”, (Greenfield, MA), and many nieces and nephews, all of whom will remember her warmth and generosity.
For 20+ years, Piedy worked as a Dental Assistant at Dr. Jeffrey Traft, DDS, a role she performed with great care and commitment. Her generosity extended beyond her professional life, as she was known for her exceptional cooking. Piedy worked at the Shady Glen Restaurant, as a Short-order Cook, where she served meals with love and passion. Later, she continued her culinary tradition at the Four Leaf Clover Restaurant.
Piedy will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her sense of humor, kindness, and culinary talents have left a lasting impact on her community and family.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday Sept. 17 from 9am to 10:30am at Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 87 Franklin St., Greenfield. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Winchester, NH at 11am. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Winchester (NH) VFW beginning at 12:00 noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local food bank in Piedy’s honor, reflecting her lifelong commitment to feeding and caring for others.
