Obituary

E. Vincent Wyatt Jr.,92, of 505 Country Side, died at the Greenfield Rehab and Nursing Center, Wednesday, March 02, 2022.  Vincent was born in West Medford, MA on February 19, 1930 the son of Ernest V. and Lillian (Grimshaw) Wyatt.  He completed his Mechanical Engineering Degree studies at Cornell University in 1952, staying an extra year to complete advanced studies in Engineering.  His expertise was in industrial production and engineering materials.  Vincent was married to the late Maryse Armin on December 27, 1952, celebrating 62 years together.  In 1963, Vincent and Maryse founded the Gordon Door Company.  The Gordon Cellar Door, invented by Vincent, can be found at homes across the US and is still being produced today.  They moved to Ashfield on November 1, 1983 and later moved to Country Side in Greenfield on April 27, 1988.  He was an avid reader and football enthusiast and could be counted on to solve complex problems.  Vincent leaves behind two sons; Peter C. Wyatt of Newburyport, MA, John A. Wyatt of Wethersfield,  CT, a daughter Susan W. Peterson of Milford, NJ and two grandchildren; Christopher and Sara Peterson.  There are no local services. Calling hours will be Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home, 94 Pantigo Rd., East Hampton, Long Island.  A graveside service will take place Monday, March 7th at 11:00 at Cedar Lawn Cemetery also in East Hampton.  Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of arrangements.
