Cynthia (Cyndi) M. Lanoue, 59, of Ashfield, Ma, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27 after long battle with illness. Cyndi was born on April 17, 1966 to Phyllis (Johndrow) and Gordon Hathaway, in Montague.
She graduated from Franklin Technical School in 1984. After graduation she married the love of her life, Richard Lanoue on August 11,1984. She worked several jobs before she started at Yankee Candle where she built a career for twenty-five years. After Yankee Candle she began working at Swift River Addiction campus for seven years, until her health prevented her from working.
She leaves her husband, Richard, her loving daughter, Lena and her fiancée Kevin of Greenfield. She leaves her brothers Gordie Hathway (Lynn) of Charlemont and Donald Hathway (Margaret) of Pittsfield. She also leaves her brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents and her son, Richard Gordon who died in infancy.
Calling hours will be Friday, September 5 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Smith Kelleher Funeral Home in Shelburne Falls. A funeral service will be held at the Charlemont Federated Church in Charlemont at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6 following a burial in the Spruce Corner cemetery in Ashfield. A reception will follow at the Sons and Daughters of Hawley, Grove building starting at 12:30 with food and soft drinks.
