Greenfield- Cynthia M. (Baker) Jarvis, 83, passed away peacefully on the first day of spring, March 20, 2025.
She was born in Greenfield on January 29, 1942 the daughter of David and Eleanor (Smead) Baker. She graduated from Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls, class of 1960.
On August 26, 1961 she was married to Kenneth E. Jarvis at the William Butler Memorial Church in Shelburne Falls.
She was a stay at home Mom while her children grew and later was employed by Dunkin Donuts for a period of 15 years until her retirement in 2002. After her retirement she cherished her role as grandmother and great grandmother, spending as much time as she could doing arts and crafts with them. She was an excellent seamstress, quilter and knitter. She looked forward to spring every year so she could plant her flower gardens, and in the summer, family camping and beach trips with friends. She loved to cook and bake and could put together a large meal in a flash to feed whoever happened to stop by the garage at that time, and that happened often!
Survivors include her two sons; Mark Jarvis of Becket, MA and Todd Jarvis of Montague, grandchildren Jenna, Kelsy and Nicholas, great grandchildren MacKenzie, Patrick, Kameryn and Aubrianna, brothers David Baker of Virginia, George Baker of Amherst, MA and John Baker of New York, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Ken in 2011.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 12 from 1 to 4 pm at the Sweetheart Restaurant, S. Maple St., Shelburne Falls.
