Carol J. Schnell

Carol J. Schnell, 88 , was born September 25, 1937, in Watertown, New York, passed away peacefully at her home on May 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished family, gardening, and interior decorating. A graduate and class president of Adams Center Central High School, Carol was a lifelong Boston Celtics fan and enjoyed watching golf. She worked for 18 years in the drapery department at Montgomery Ward and had a passion for Waterford Crystal and Swarovski Annual Snowflake ornaments. Her favorite flower was the iris.

She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Richard Schnell; her daughter, Kathleen Barrett; grandson, Joshua Barrett; her parents, Ruth and Claude Parks; and her sister, Pat Smith.

Carol is survived by her Daughter, Joanne Leuci; Son-in-law Jeffrey Barret Sr. (Lisa), grandchildren Jeff Barrett Jr. (Corina), Jessica Miller (James), Justin Barrett (Lily), Nicolas Leuci (Melissa), Jordan Barrett (Stephanie), Rachel Leuci; and several great-grandchildren; her sister Barbara Crandall (Dave); and many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her love of family, warm spirit, and the joy she found in the simple things in life.
