Bernice Carpenter Obituary

Bernice Irene (Chamberlain) Carpenter of Shelburne, MA went to be with the Lord Saturday evening 12/04/21, peacefully at home.

Bernie was a graduate of Arms Academy, Class of ‘46, where she met her soon to be husband, Alfred R. “Bud” Carpenter, Jr..

Bud & Bernie made their lives in Dover, NH, Chelmsford, MA, Hollywood, FL & Shelburne, MA. While in Chelmsford, they raised three children; Dale, Kenny & Denny and together owned and operated both the Tyngsboro Drive-In and the Chelmsford Twin Drive-In.

Bunny loved her Sebring convertible & was Den Mother to the boys Cub Scout troops as well as wearing many hats with her 3 sons active in sports, school and civic activities. She was an ardent Red Sox fan and could often be spotted with her ever present Red Sox cap. And she loved her Ice Cream!

She was the talk of the Boardwalk at Hollywood Beach, as everyone knew Bernie. She was always gracious, kind, witty and never met a stranger, only friends that she was anxious to meet.

Bernie was one of seven children and the daughter to Allen Chamberlain & Marion Brown Chamberlain. She is survived by her sister, Phyllis Pantano, her children Dale, (wife Betty), Kenny & Denny. Her grandchildren; Cheryl Ann, Holly (Gaske), Lindsey, (Cavalier), Scott, Bailey, Makayla & Michael. As well as her great grandson, Dylan!

Additional surviving relatives include two sisters in law, Shirley Tombs & Joyce Herrick, along with numerous nieces & nephews; Bradley Tombs, Lynda Jellison, Sue Long, Guy Long, Nick Long, John Long, Judi Long & Elena Long and a host of grand nieces & nephews.

Bernie was a beloved person and her smile & friendship will surely be missed.
