Audrey Jane (Broadhurst) Cass

January 8, 1934 – December 26, 2022

Audrey J. (Broadhurst) Cass, 88, of Buckland passed away peacefully at the Cooley Dickenson Hospital on December 26, 2022. 

Audrey was born on January 8, 1934, to Emory C. Broadhurst and Jennie G. (Stefanec) Broadhurst.

Audrey attended local schools and graduated from the Arms Academy in 1952. On February 18, 1968, she married Lloyd N. Cass.  They were married for 43 years before his passing in 2011.

Audrey worked at several different places locally before retiring. 

Her dogs were her life’s joy.  She had a special fondness for the sheltie breed, which she bred and raised for many years.   Audrey enjoyed watching the Boston Celtics, The New England Patriots, and NASCAR racing.

Audrey is survived by her brother, Donald Broadhurst of East Hartford, CT, her son Stephen Cousineau (Judy) of Greenfield, MA, Her daughters Barbara Baronas (Edward) of South Deerfield, MA, and Susan Cass (Richard) of Buckland, MA and her son Robert Cass of Buckland, MA. Her Grandchildren Matthew Cousineau, Michael Cousineau, Douglas Cass, Nathaniel Sanborn, Skye Cass, Rylan Baronas, and Jared Brothers.  Her great-grandchildren Cassandra Cousineau, Hazel Shulda, Temir Cousineau, Amir Cousineau, and Amelia Cass.  Her brother-in-law Melvin Cass, her nephew James Broadhurst, and her niece Lori Teahen.

Audrey is predeceased by her husband Lloyd Cass, her parents Emory and Jennie Broadhurst, her sister Barbara Broadhurst, her twin brother Richard Broadhurst, and her granddaughter Natalee Sanborn.

There will be a private graveside service in the spring.
