Arnold Miller Obituary

Arnold Neal Miller, 81, succumbed to cancer in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family on May 28, 2022.

Arnold was born on August 27, 1940 in Greenfield, MA. He was the son of Loretta and Leo Miller of Colrain, MA where he grew up and remained. Arnold graduated from Arms Academy in 1958.

Arnold is survived by the love of his life, Donna (Corliss) of 61 years, daughter Lisa Billiel and husband Richard of Great Falls, MT, son Thomas Miller of Turners Falls, MA, brothers Ronald Miller and wife Carol of Shelburne Falls, Richard Miller and wife Carol of Arizona, Robert Miller and wife Judy of New Hampshire and his late brother Dennis Miller and surviving wife Helene of South Deerfield, MA, along with his loving grandchildren Taylor and Nathan Abbott whom he was so very proud. He also left behind many nieces and nephews with whom he was very close to. Arnold was a loving father, husband, grandfather and beloved friend to many.

Arnold loved deer and pheasant hunting with his brothers, spending time with family, taking care of his lawn and trips to the CASINO.

He started his career at Yankee Atomic Power Plant in Rowe, MA until it was shut down. He proceeded to start a lengthy career for 39 years at Kendall Mills/American Fiber and Finishing. After retirement there he worked as a grounds man at Mohawk Trail Regional High School taking pride in the schools grounds for 10 years. He then drove buses part-time taking students to all sporting events. The students of Mohawk adored him and loved him as their bus driver.

A special thank you to the staff of Pioneer Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for their loving care and support during his final days. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to his nurse Stacy who spent a great deal of time with him.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 4, at 11:00 am at Arms Cemetery in Shelburne Falls. Immediately following the service, all are invited to attend a reception at the Colrain Community Church to celebrate Arnie’s life.
