Alfred C. “Al” Morse, Jr. 85, of Shippee Rd., passed away on May 4, 2023 at the Greenfield Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Al was born in Brattleboro, VT on December 30, 1937 one of nine children of Alfred C. and Arline (Cudworth) Morse.

A hard worker his whole life, Al worked for the Bakers Bookstore for many years, the Deerfield Glassine until its closure, was a custodian at the Hawlemont school in Charlemont, All Around Tile and “retired” in 2001 from Mount Snow Ski Resort.

In the town of Rowe he served on the Park Commission, was active in the Historical Society, and mowed the grass at all the town cemeteries for more than 30 years.

Survivors include his wife Marjorie (Brown), whom he married on April 2, 1972, his daughters Jennifer and Willian, grandchildren; Ashton, Dean, Brianna, John, Mackenzie, and Noah, great granddaughters Maddison, Kingsleigh and soon to be Rosalie, many nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Phyllis (Norm) Garland, golfing friends at the Chip and Putt (especially Mike), and his furry pals Dewey and Buddy.

He was predeceased by his parents and eight siblings.

At his request there are no services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Al enjoyed Mohawk Athletics, watching his children and grandchildren play in many different sports. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Mohawk Athletic Association, PO Box 111, Shelburne Falls, MA 01370
