Please accept my condolences on Ray's passing.
I had the pleasure of interviewing him and Bill Wessel in October, 2015 about the American Legion Band for a story in The Commons newspaper. That interview was one of the most fun I've had as a reporter. It was obvious Ray loved the band and the people in it, and he had such a bright, positive personality. What a joy it was to meet him -- and a privilege to write about him.

We were so stunned to hear of Ray's passing away. Wanted you to know that though we're so distantly 'related' through Meaghan and Barry and Abigail we're thinking of you right now. Keep the faith, as they used to say and that wonderful family bond you all so clearly enjoy.

My condolences to his family and friends. We went to high school together and it is sad to lose one more from our class. It sounds like he had a full life doing what he loved.

My sincerest condolences. As a member of the American Legion Band I share your grief. Ray's was a life well-lived and he leaves such a positive imprint on this earth. I am a better person and a better musician from knowing him. It was a privilege to have him as a conductor and friend.

Although we did not know Ray personally, we enjoyed the American Legion Band. We saw him as he directed on the 4th of July and know he really enjoyed his music. Prayers are with the family at this time. He will certainly be missed.
