Alvis T. (Tetreault) Dedinas, 81, died Thursday, August 30, 2018.
She was born on October 2, 1936 in Greenfield, the daughter of Alfred and Violet (Phelps) Tetreault. She was a graduate of Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls as a member of the class of 1954.
Alvis was employed by Sears and Roebuck Co. in Greenfield and West Springfield prior to the birth of her four children. After 23 years she returned to the work force and retired from Phoenix Life Insurance.
She was an avid reader and also enjoyed crossword puzzles and jig saw puzzles. Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and attending as many of their functions as she could.
Among her survivors include her husband of 61 years, Richard of Greenfield, four children; Steven (Rene’) Dedinas of Mesa, AZ, Alan (Brenda) Dedinas of Greenfield, Mark Dedinas of Lake Worth, FL, and Laurie (Alan) Lapoint also of Greenfield, five grandchildren; Stephanie, Sam, Christopher, Erica and Rachel, three great grandchildren; Lauriel, Zyla and Alvie Mae. She also leaves a brother Nelson (Judy) Tetreault of Colrain and a sister LuAnn (David) Sholemson of Newton, MA as well as many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private and burial will take place in West Branch Cemetery in Colrain.
