Betty, Brian and the Rice Family,
We were sad to hear that Walt has left us. While we have not seen you recently, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We will always remember Walt as our ace Little League coach and a very fine man. We think of him as a "real" country man who knew his way around the New England woods. He was generous with his time and his stories - we appreciated that.
We send our thanks for having known him. Thinking of you,
Sandy and Justin

Dear Betty and members of the Rice Family:

Margaret and I extend our deepest condolences on Walt’s passing. He was a good friend and frequent visitor here at Foxbard Farm, and we always enjoyed chatting with him and sharing stories and experiences with him. He had a dry sense of humor and one could tell by the mischievous smile that crept across his lips that he was having a little fun with us. We also loved the Maple Syrup he brought us every year; when the kids came to visit, they always asked, "Has Mr. Rice brought any new Maple Syrup. We will miss him.

We regret missing the visiting hours tomorrow and celebration of life at Mohawk Park, but will be away for most of the week–end.

Best Wishes John and Margaret Payne

We wish to extend our condolences to Betty and family at this time of great sorrow. Walt's passing leaves out hearts heavy with a sense of loss that reaches beyond railroading and BMWE brotherhood; for we also mourn the loss of a friend. In thought and prayer we ask that God wrap you all in his amazing grace and Walt in eternal peace.
