Dear Kip, Betsy and families. We have lost a wonderful, warm, generous man who took care of others all his life with compassion and empathy. We know Greenfield will miss his greatly, as will all of you. We know he is once again with his Nancy and hopefully they are having a martini in the sun!
God bless you all.
All our love, Gene and Odette

To Dr. Haggett's family,

My heart is heavy upon learning of Hap's passing this week. I join Mark Allen and all of our former colleagues at PFP and NPMG in remembering Hap as a wonderful colleague and mentor. He and Mark welcomed me as a young, ponytailed, pregnant and very green family doc way back in 1990, and I learned so much from him over our many years together. Funny, smart, sometimes even a little gruff, but always caring, he taught me patient- and family-centered care before that was "a thing". He also taught me about leadership and about balance, managing a difficult, rewarding and time-consuming profession while holding beloved Nancy, Betsy and Kip and ultimately grandchildren as the most important thing in his life.

I still chuckle finally when I think of him coming to the hospital in the middle of the night with his pajama bottoms peeking out of the bottom of his trousers, and his giant face famously traveling around town on the side of the bus.

We will miss you Hap. I'm sorry I can't make it to the services as I am traveling Saturday. But Hap's warmth will be translated into some warming of children, to be sure!

Forty years ago, Mark arrived in Greenfield to join Hap in practice - what a wonderful welcome from both Hap and Nancy. And what an incredible career they both shared for so many years beginning on Main St., up to High St., next to Cherry Rum Plaza, then High St. again; from Pioneer Family Physicians, to Valley Health Plan, to Kaiser Permanente, to Valley Medical Group. Hap and Mark even shared pre-history together, both going to Roxbury Latin School and the same dancing class school (white gloves, no less). Hap's great good humor and support as a peer were incomparable, his flexibility and perseverance invaluable. But mostly he was a delightful partner and friend for our family. Each year on Exaulano Day (March 4) he will be first in our minds forever. Thank you for sharing Hap with us and the community.

I am writing as a fellow physician of Dr Haggett in Greenfield. We all admired him as a knowledgeable, skillful and kind physician, and enjoyed his company. He was the trusted family doctor for many in Franklin County.

We were one of his first patients, will always remember what a great doctor and person he was, came to our house when we called him when our son was killed in Vietnam to calm my husband down, a true doctor and friend.

I will always remember Dr. Haggett as a warm , kind physician. He was very kind to me as I began my years as a physical therapist . He will live on for all of the wonderful medicine and care he brought to this community.

To Dr. Everett Haggett's Family,

My thoughts to you all in your loss of such a wonderful person and Doctor. Fifty-three years ago he drove me and my critically ill 2-month old daughter to Boston Childrens' Hospital. My little daughter Laurie died in surgery later that week. We will donate to WARM THE CHILDREN in his memory. With Deepest Sympathy, Barbara Lessard and family
