Colrain- Duane E. Brothers, Sr., 91, passed away at home on Monday, May 31, 2021.
Duane was born in Whitehall, NY on October 25, 1929 the son of Wesley and Ruby (Lynde) Brothers.
Duane was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean War. He was proud to be a veteran and a member of the Colrain Veterans of Foreign War.
He was employed by the Kendall Mills in Colrain for many years. After retirement from Kendall, he served as a driver for Rice Oil delivering home heating oil.
Survivors include two sons; Kirby L. Brothers and William L. Brothers, both of Colrain, two daughters; Lynn M. Aiken of Georgia and Lori Paquette of Westhampton, thirteen grandchildren; David Brothers, Megan Weller, Jessica Howard, Dodie Sills, Christopher Brothers, Kimberly Brothers, Samantha Brothers, Ian Robitaille, Rebecca Dacey, Jamie Herzig, Melissa Pinkham, Amanda and Nina Brothers, and many great and great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his companion of many years Joan Bell of Colrain
Duane was predeceased by his wife Octavia (Shaw) Brothers and son Duane E. Brothers, Jr.
Services with Military Honors will be at West Branch Cemetery at 11AM on Friday June 4th. Family and friends are welcome. In lieu of flower, donations to a heart or kidney foundation of your choice would be greatly appreciated
