David E. Burnap, 86, formerly of Dungarvin Dr., passed away October 5, 2025 at the Linda Manor Extended Care Facility in Leeds.
He was born in Greenfield on February 22, 1939 the son of Floyd and Lillian (Alden) Burnap. He attended the Baker Street School and Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls.
He served in the US Army during the Vietnam war from Nov. 7, 1962 until his honorable discharge on Nov. 6, 1964.
On June 18, 1966 he was married to the former Anne Looney, together for nearly 41 years until her untimely passing on May 26, 2007.
He worked for various employers over the years; a carpenter for a local builder, the S.F. Water Dept., Mayhew Steel, and most recently for Pine Hill Orchards.
Throughout the years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and in his retirement he liked to meet friends for coffee at the Baker Pharmacy every morning. They would sit on a bench outside and watch the townspeople and visitors come and go. He loved the village of Shelburne Falls.
Survivors include his children; son Joel (Sarah) Burnap of Bernardston, Lesley Burnap (Jaye Jillson) of Oxford, MA, Karen (Michael) Strong of Antrim, NH, and his grandchildren Anneliese, Lucianne, Fredrick and Calvin.
