Barbara J. (Shippee) Purinton

Barbara J. (Shippee) Purinton, 99, formerly of Upper St., passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025.

She was born in Greenfield, MA on June 20, 1926 the daughter of Edmond D. and Margaret (Bahr) Shippee. She was a 1944 graduate of Arms Academy and a graduate of Simmons College with a degree in Library Science.

She worked alongside her husband Dr. Mark Purinton in his medical practice while raising their two children.

She is survived by her children Laurel Kearns of Roanoke, VA and Larch Purinton of Rocky Hill, CT and her grandchildren Andrew Kearns and Willow Kearns.
