     Sara A. Gibson, 32, of Barr Ave., died unexpectedly on Monday, June 19, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT

     Sara was born in Greenfield on April 14, 1985 the daughter of Mark R. and Susan F. (Farr) Gibson. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Pioneer Valley Regional School, class of 2003. She later received an Associate Degree from Greenfield Community College in 2006.

     Sara was passionate about acting and everything theatre. Since the age of 5 Sara has been on stage dancing or acting. She enjoyed acting in high school plays and later as a member of the Country Players performing at the Shea Theater in Turners Falls. As a choreographer and director, Sara enjoyed challenging herself, cast and crew to put on a memorable performance and they were all proud of the response from the crowd. 

     She was employed as a personal care attendant for the Arc of Greenfield where she was able to assist her clients in their daily lives.

     Sara is survived by her daughter Kahlan Scappace, whom she loved and adored, her parents Mark and Susan Gibson of Greenfield, her maternal grandmother Elinor Farr of Greenfield, her paternal grandmother Evelyn Gibson of Winchester, NH, her twin brother Jeffrey Gibson of Revere, MA, her sister Katie Gibson of Greenfield, her former husband Joseph Scappace of Turners Falls, several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Sara will be deeply missed.

     A memorial service will take place Friday, June 23, at 3:00 pm at St.’s James and Andrew Episcopal Church, at the corner of Federal and Church Streets in Greenfield. Rev. Jane Dunning will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

     There are no calling hours.
