Sandra F. (Goudreau) Sumner

     Sandra F. (Goudreau) Sumner, 70, of Davis St., died Saturday, July 22, 2017 with her family by her side at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

     Sandy was born in North Adams, MA on February 23, 1947 the daughter of Arthur and Edna (Neidzwiecki) Goudreau.

      Sandy was a selfless, and generous, hardworking and practical woman. What she had she’d gladly give to you along with a cup of coffee and a piece of cake. She had a way of making everyone feel comfortable and cared for. She was gregarious and made friends easily and with everyone, whether she already knew you or you’d just met in a checkout line at the grocery store. Her smile was genuine and contagious. She was quick witted and enjoyed making people laugh.

     Her favorite place was the ocean. She looked forward to yearly vacations with her family and friends, she liked a good time. She loved her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Her dog Sonny meant the world to her.

     While we will all miss her enormous joy for life we feel comfort in knowing she is off on her next adventure and swimming with the dolphins already.

     Survivors include her three daughters; Lauri Blouin and husband Fred and their children Abraham and Abigail Myre of Keene, NH, Vicki Sumner and husband Michael Duprey and their children Jessica Secore, David and Stephanie Duprey, Shelly Pelletier and her children Jacob and Logan Pelletier, a great granddaughter Aria Duprey, a brother Mark LeSage of North Adams, sister Barbara Dix of Clarksburg, MA, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

    She was predeceased by her husband David Sumner and sister Carol Tatro.

     Calling hours will be Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 40 Church St., Shelburne Falls.

     A memorial service will take place Thursday at 11:00 am  at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Arms Cemetery.
