Dear Woody, We were so very, very sorry to read in The Recorder this morning of the passing of your son. From what we know of your work with our trees, he must have been a talented tree climber. Our thoughts are with you and your family. Blessings to you all. Ed and Claire

I knew Jeff mostly from playing football together in middle school through high school.
Jeff was always a happy guy. Quick with a joke followed by and enduring smile. He had a way of lightening the mood at the right times.
On the football field the smile went away and was replaced with an unmatched grittiness. He anchored the middle of the line with more than just a powerful physical presence. His linemates rallied around his spirit and toughness.
In adult life, these high school “glory days” memories are often disapproved of by the unknowing. My personal belief is that at these times you really get to know your teammates in ways that others, including family, will not. What is in this person’s heart? What is he willing to do for a friend and a teammate? Jeff had a heart of platinum and he would give all for a friend.

My condolences to the the family.
