Gerald Galipo Obituary

Gerald F. Galipo, 88, formerly of Heath, died Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Poet Seat Health Care Center in Greenfield.

     He was born in Heath on December 27, 1929 a son of Francis and Nora (Lively) Galipo. He attended school in Heath.

     Gerald was a self-employed logger for some time prior to working for the Town of Heath Highway Dept., a position he held for many years.

     He enjoyed growing vegetables in his garden.

     Gerald was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Shelburne Falls.

     He is survived by four sisters; Anna M. Coombs of Hinsdale, NH, Margaret I. Bartlett of Brattleboro, VT, Teresa M. Peters of Heath, and Yvonne E. Allen of Valley Springs, CA, two brothers; Arthur E. Galipo of Young, AZ, and Raymond J. Galipo of Whitingham, VT, and many nieces and nephews.

     Gerald was predeceased by a brother Lester Galipo, four sisters; Annette Galipo, Rita Galipo, Geneva Galipo and Ezilda G. Streeter, as well as four nephews and a niece.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Sept. 15 at 10:00 am, St. Joseph’s Church, 34 Monroe Ave., Shelburne Falls. Burial will be private.

     There are no calling hours.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Poet Seat Health Care Center Resident Fund, 359 High St., Greenfield, MA 01301
