Beverly J. (Ward) Wall

Beverly J. (Ward) Wall, 91, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018.

Bev was born in Buckland on October 27, 1927 the daughter of Nelson E. and Blanche (Wilder) Ward. She graduated from Buckland Center Grammar School and Arms Academy in 1945.

Bev's husband Gerald owned an oil delivery business and Bev assisted him as the bookkeeper. She later moved on to the purchasing department of Kendall Mills in Colrain and also was bookkeeper for Massamont Insurance in Shelburne Falls. After retiring, she worked part time at Yetter the Florist in Greenfield.

Bev enjoyed volunteering at the Franklin Medical Center and the Hilltown Food Pantry. She also volunteered at the Shelburne Senior Center where she helped others learn about computers and played keyboard for sing-a-longs.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Buckland (Mary Lyon Church) for over 50 years and was church organist for many of those years. Bev also was the accompanist for the Buckland Male Chorus.

Survivors include her six children; William (Denise) Wall of Shelburne Falls, Vickie (William) Amstein of Shelburne Falls, Kenneth Wall and Sara Clark of Hawley, Keith (Jennifer) Wall of Buckland, Thomas (Kathleen) Wall of Shelburne Falls and Glenn (Laura) Wall of Bourne, MA, thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, two brothers; Donald (Shirley) Ward and Robert (Alice) Ward, and several nieces and nephews.

Bev was predeceased by her husband Gerald, sisters Alma Ward Shippee and Ruth Ann Cronk, brothers Russell and Richard Ward, and a grandson Billy Clark.

A funeral service for Bev will be held Saturday, December 1 at 11:00 am at the First Congregational Church of Buckland, 17 Upper St., with Rev. Richard Fournier, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Taylor Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church of Buckland, 17 Upper St. or the Buckland Union Cemetery Assoc., PO Box 69, both in Buckland, MA 01338
