I am so saddened to read of Alex's passing, far too soon. I knew your family when we worshipped together at the Federated Church, and I worked with Katie, Alex, and Halie in Sunday School. I remember you as lovely people, who had such a close-knit family. I was sitting in the balcony, near Alex, one Sunday in 2000 (I think) when I asked for prayers for my dad who was fighting colon cancer. As worship ended, and we stood to leave, Alex offered kinds words and said, with emotion, "I hate cancer- it hits too many people!" After that, he always asked me how my dad was doing, how my mom and I were doing. I will always be grateful for his reaching out to me in that way. Again, I am so very sorry for your loss: he was a very good man, and the world should have had him longer.
love and prayers, Linda Hornig

Sending heartfelt sympathies to Alex's family. I remember him well from GC High School--he had a mischievous smile, and was so fun-loving and generous, and a great tennis player. He was one of the good guys, and I'm so very very sorry for your loss.

Alex was a beloved member of our Garden City High School Class of 1975. He was a kind, friendly and positive soul who will be fondly remembered by all. So very sorry for this loss; keeping Alex' family and friends in our thoughts at this difficult time.
