Doris M. Taylor, 98, formerly of Greenfield, passed peacefully at Linda Manor Assisted Living Facility.

She was born in Maynard, MA the daughter of William Charles Newman and Louise Maude (Wilson) Newman and was educated at schools in Maynard.

During WW2 Doris worked for Clifford Mfg Co. in Waltham. After the war she worked for Boston Edison in Maynard until she married her high school classmate Edwin R. Taylor. Doris and Ed moved from Maynard to Webster while starting a family - eventually moving with their three young boys to Rowe for the opening of Yankee Atomic Electric in 1959.

When her boys were grown, Doris returned to work at Wilson’s Department Store.

Doris was a wonderful Mom and Grammy and she will forever live on in our hearts. She loved cooking and hosting family get-togethers. She also enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, and games, and took special joy in playing with her grandchildren.
