I had Mr. DeRose for Earth Science in 1970-71 and Biology 1971-72 at Wayne Central. He was a good teacher and will always remember the Earth Science field trips to the Adirondacks and Finger Lakes. He also hosted our Earth Science class for a picnic at his home in Walworth. I'm sure he will also be remembered for his work on all the school plays. Sorry to hear of his passing.

I had Mr DeRose as a biology teacher at GHS. He was such a good teacher. I was honored to be among a group of students invited on a field trip to Cape Cod with him and his wife. It was educational and fun. My sympathies on the loss of a wonderful man.

Sorry for your loss. I knew him, though not well, since the 1970's. I still remember the slide shows at Green River School of your family trip to the Grand Canyon, and the field trip he chaperoned behind your house to see the meridian. I also had him as a high school science teacher. He was a kind man who did not put up with a lot of nonsense.
