Louise C. "Lu-lu" (Totaro) Kujdzio, 84, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016.

Louise was born in Greenfield, MA on December 8, 1931 one of seven children of Vincenzo and Imelda (Trivisondoli) Totaro. She attended local schools and graduated from Greenfield High School.

Throughout her life, Louise's Italian heritage was very important to her. As a child growing up on Devens Court in Greenfield, she developed a life-long connection to the Bresciano's, Carme's, Calucci's and Bompastore's. The children would often be found at each other's homes for meals, holidays, special occasions and every day life. She enjoyed visiting her Aunt at her cottage at Lake Wyola and spending time with her cousins. This close knit community instilled a sense of one large family that has endured over the years. Her sense of caring for others has remained through the years as she always put other people's needs before her own. A loving trait she learned from her cherished youth.

Louise was employed by Wilson's Department store for 48 years prior to her retirement. She could be found in many different departments but most commonly in the Women's department. A dedicated hard worker, she met many customers over the years and enjoyed watching their families grow.

She was a life-long communicant of Holy Trinity Church and had belonged to the Holy Rosary Society at one time.

Louise loved to travel and could often be seen with her daughter and nieces in Maine, Virginia, Las Vegas, Italy, and many different places in the US. They also found themselves enjoying a casino from time to time.

Louise is survived by her devoted daughter, Joanne Kuzmeskus of Greenfield, granddaughter Autumn Kuzmeskus and her partner Pat McCloud, great grandchildren Violet West and Liam McCloud, sister Palma Leveille and her husband Rollie of Turners Falls, beloved nieces Rosemarie Siano and Judy D'Acunto as well as several other nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Raymond Kujdzio, brothers Michael and Joseph Totaro, sisters Mary Spagnolo, Adeline Carme, and Josephine Aldrich as well as her son-in-law Gerald Kuzmeskus.

Calling hours will be Sunday, July 17 from 4 to 7 pm at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 87 Franklin St., Greenfield.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home Monday at 9 am and travel in procession to Holy Trinity Church, 133 Main St., for the Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 am, to be celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Ronald G. Yargeau, Pastor. Committal prayers will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, in honor of Louise's love for animals, the family requests memorial donations to the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society, PO Box 6307, Springfield, MA 01101 or online at www.dpvhs.org
