Jeffrey S. Lanoue

     Jeffrey S. Lanoue, 47, formerly of Colrain, died Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the Granite Hills Health and Wellness Center in El Cajon, CA.

     Jeff was born in Greenfield on August 9, 1970 the son of Silbert “Woody” and Cheryl (Ward) Lanoue. He was a graduate of Mohawk Trail Regional High School in Buckland Class of 1988. While at Mohawk he excelled in baseball and football receiving the Outstanding Lineman Award in his Junior year.

     While growing up, Jeff truly enjoyed being outside fishing and hunting with his father as well as snowmobiling in Colrain and Island Pond, Vermont.

     Before moving to California 21 years ago, Jeff was employed by his father in the family business, Lanoue Tree and Landscaping. He was a talented tree climber.

     Jeff will always be remembered by his family and friends as a kind, compassionate and giving person who will be dearly missed.

     Survivors include his father Silbert “Woody” Lanoue, Jr. of Colrain, his mother Cheryl Ward Lanoue of Bernardston, his paternal grandmother Joan Lanoue of Greenfield, brother Christopher Lanoue of Shelburne Falls, sister Carolyn Curtis and her husband David of Leyden, nephews Gavin and Henry Curtis, a niece Emma Lanoue and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

     A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, October 27 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 34 Monroe Ave., Shelburne Falls. Burial services will follow in Brick Cemetery in Colrain.

     Calling hours will take place Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 40 Church St., Shelburne Falls.
