Isabelle G. (Decker) Graves

Isabelle G. (Decker) Graves, 94, died Friday August 5, 2016 with her family by her side.

Isabelle was born in Sunderland, MA on May 25, 1922 the daughter of Arland and Marion (Patterson) Decker. She attended local schools and went on to graduate from a commercial college.

She was employed as a bookkeeper at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst for approximately 30 years. In addition to driving to work every day, Isabelle was instrumental in the operation of the family farm in Ashfield.

Isabelle took great pride in her large family and enjoyed having the generations around the farm. She was proud to be still living at home on the farm cooking and feeding wood to the stove herself.

Survivors include three sons; Thomas E. Graves of Ashfield, Richard H. Graves of Bullhead, AZ, and Kenneth A Graves of Charlemont, two daughters; Linda Warren of Ashfield and Carol Pearson of Wahiawa, HI, 12 grandchildren, several great and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Isabelle was predeceased by her first husband Alden Warren in 1944, her second husband Addison Graves in 2000, and three sons; Francis, Charles and Brian Graves.

A graveside service will take place Friday, August 12 at 1:00 pm in Plain Cemetery, Ashfield. Rev. Kate Stevens, Pastor of the Ashfield Congregational Church will preside.
