Shelburne Falls, MA - Griffin Joseph Kearney ("Griff"), of Shelburne Falls, MA, beloved son of Joseph Kearney, born June 21st 2003, was welcomed into eternal life on Wednesday, encircled in the loving arms of his late mother, Michelle Hebert Kearney, and his late grandmother, Peg Kearney.

Griff will remain forever in our memories a sweet, compassionate, and beautiful boy with a wicked sense of humor and a grin that lit up the darkest room. He loved the outdoors, farming with Jack and Uncle Ed, caring for his chickens, beehive, and orchard, maple sugaring, fishing, and playing baseball. Griff particularly delighted in dismantling any and all machinery, without a thought of putting it back together. He loved the comic strip Calvin & Hobbes, the book My Side of the Mountain, and the color green. He gloried in being an uncle to Kaden and Savannah - the apples of his eye, and could be found many days around 4 pm with his Foxtown Coffee Crew, discussing forecasts and crop futures - the youngest in the company by many decades. 

In his addition to his dad, Griffin leaves behind many who adored and cherished him, including his beloved maternal grandparents Eleanor and Martin Hebert, his siblings Jessica, William, Ashleigh and her partner Grayson, his new mom Caroline Ludvik-Johnson, brothers Liam and Elliot Johnson, his aunts and uncles Ed, John, Elaine, Pete, Mary, Dave, Mike, Mark, Jennifer, Stephen & Amy, nephew and niece Kaden and Savannah, cousins Kyle, Maggie, Jack, Dan, Jim, Jordan, Ava, Jonathan, Caleb, and Allie.

There are no calling hours.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday July 23rd, at St. Joseph's Church, 34 Monroe Avenue, Shelburne Falls, MA. Committal prayers will follow in Arms Cemetery.  A reception at Griff’s home at 5 Creamery Ave will follow.
