Gloria E. (Appel) Serrell

     Gloria E. (Appel) Serrell, 86, of 152 Avenue A., died Friday, August 25, 2017 at Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility in Greenfield.

     Gloria was born in Detroit, MI on April 20, 1931 the daughter of Christopher and Josephine Appel.

    She lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for a number of years where she was employed by Kmart Department store as a customer service representative. Gloria enjoyed her job and interacting with customers. She loved bowling and was a member of the Kmart bowling league while living in Florida.

     In 1979 Gloria was married to Forrest F. Serrell, Sr. and they celebrated 38 loving years together.

     She adored kids, most especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she enjoyed walking, going to the beach, and the winter season. Gloria and Forrest loved to spend time at the Millers Falls Rod and Gun catching up with friends and enjoying their company. Forrest is a US Army veteran of the Tank Corps and Gloria was proud of his service.

     Gloria leaves behind the loves of her life; her husband Forrest of Turners Falls, a son Marvin (Darlene) Schodowski of Michigan, four daughters; Kim (Tony) Staelgaeve of Michigan, Cindy Serrell and companion Marlin of New Hampshire, Lindy (Timmy) Ovitt of Greenfield, Mindy (Norman) Mason of Greenfield, 6 grandchildren; Lisa, Julie, Charissa, Tanya, Tica and Nicole, 9 great grandchildren Kailynn, Kamrynn, Kaedynn, Kimberlynn, Branden, Alexis, Jeremiah, Anthony and Ayla, as well as nieces and nephews.

     Gloria was predeceased by a son Forrest F. Serrell, Jr., a grandson Matthew, two sisters and a brother-in-law Alfred Serrell.

     Services will be private.
