Elena Placinta

     Elena Placinta, 89, of Elm Terrace, died at home Monday, January 25, 2016, with her family by her side.
     Elena was born in Moldova on May 21, 1926. She was married to Gheorghe Placinta for many years and together they had 14 children, seven have predeceased her.
     Elena is survived by her husband, three sons; Anton Placinta, Simion Placinta and Ion Placinta, four daughters; Claudia Belous, Vera Duca, Julia Skieutarou, and Lidia Olaru, fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
     A funeral service will take place Friday at 10:00 am, at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 87 Franklin St., Greenfield. Burial services will follow in Green River Cemetery.
     There are no calling hours.
