Eleanor K. (Kosuda) March, 84, of Abbott St., peacefully crossed over from this life on September 20, 2016 with her loving and devoted daughter, Rebecca “Becki” Craig and niece Lori Drew by her side. Eleanor had suffered from a fall in her home and as a result was unable to recover due to complications.

     Eleanor was born in Sunderland on January 3, 1932 the daughter of Roman and Stella (Sabelawski) Kosuda. Because of her petite size her family lovingly gave her the name “Tiny” and she was raised in Sunderland as well as Brooklyn, NY by her mother and step-father George Goulet. She was a proud graduate of Amherst High School, although her diploma reads her given name as Rosemary Kosuda, she had changed her name to Eleanor.

     Those left behind to cherish her in memories include her daughter Rebecca “Becki” Craig, her niece whom she considered her second daughter Lori Drew both of whom she lived with and they cared for her every waking moment of every day, a god son whom she thought of as a son Gary Pajonk, an aunt, a nephew, two great nieces, a great nephew, cousins and second cousins as well as her cat Twitter and grandcats Peanut, Ralphie and Sally Mae.

     Eleanor was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, James March, brother Raymond Kosuda, a god son and nephew Michael Kosuda, and her son-in-law James “Bear” Craig.

     She was employed by the Greenfield Tap and Die for a number of years working in various departments until taking an early retirement. She had also previously worked for the Buxton Co. as a bookkeeper. Eleanor later assisted her daughter in the operation of her store “Chameleons”.

     In her free time, Eleanor enjoyed refinishing furniture, knitting, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, going to tag sales and flea markets, traveling with her husband and taking cruises with her daughter. She loved and respected animals and always cared for them in many ways. She loved cherished her home and family.

     Eleanor was a communicant of the Holy Name of Jesus Polish National Catholic Church in South Deerfield.

     Eleanor’s family would like to recognize and thank the EMT’s and staff of MedCare Ambulance, the Greenfield Fire Rescue and the Sheriff’s Triad Department for their care, kindness and support over the last two months. Caring for others as if they were their own family is a gift that is truly appreciated and deeply comforting.

     At Eleanor’s request, there will be no calling hours. If you wish to express your love and support to her daughter and niece, she asks you to do so at their home at anytime.

     A Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Eleanor and James March on their 56th wedding anniversary, October 15, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Holy Name of Jesus Church located on Thayer St. in South Deerfield. Inurnment of their cremains will take place at a later date at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.

     A special thank you to Wayne Gavryck, MD, Jonathon Thomas, Lynn Greguoli and Jaime Lucas Judge for being a source of comfort and support to Eleanor’s daughter.
